MUGSHOT TEST

Did a 'mugshot' test today with model.

For the final image these 2 mugshots will be incorporated onto a 'wanted' poster, which will be tied to a lamp-post outside, and then photographed.

Forgot to make a nameplate for model to hold up, but it was mainly to test out the lighting/backdrop.

Made the backdrop in photoshop, printed onto A4 paper and then glued together...very much a 'blue peter' day.

...and there's one I made earlier =)

Appreciate any feedback/critique. Do you think the poster tied to lamp-post idea would work, or is it too cliché?

Mate is cool, liking the contrast, as harsh light gives the image the criminal emotion

thanks man, glad you think so cos that was what i wanted.

tried the lighting with a key and fill light, but it looked too soft.

Ah man, this is so cool. I want to create this sort of shot for myself but need the props. You defo need the clapper board type thing and the backdrop is cool. Any chance you could give me any tips regarding this. Do you still have the backdrop by any chance. Also, it looks like the paper was gloss, am I right, I think that adds to the plastic authentic look. This is cool, if you could advise it would be great!

hi mooch. i created the backdrop in photoshop. not difficult, just remember to use the ruler tool to accurately measure the lines.

i didn't use any special paper, just standard injet A4.

only lighting was a tungsten light, directly infront and above the model.

Hi Tom,

I'm part of the publicity team from Imperial College London, and we are currently organising a charity fashion show, and I was wondering whether I can have your permission to use one of the 2 mugshots in our advertising posters. Sorry I had to contact you in this way - I was unable to locate your e-mail address! You can contact me on laura.sehinson08@imperial.ac.uk.

Thank you,

Laura
